Welcome to our humble site, dear guest, please come in and have a cup of tea!
This site is maintained by a group of Lithuanian tolkienists (that is, devotees of J.R.R.Tolkien). Our online meeting place is the [url Tolkien Lietuva] messageboard, in fact that's where it all started. A small community though we may be, our example proves that tolkienism has adherents even in this little country by the Baltic Sea.
Thou shalt find here collected articles about Tolkien and his works and reminiscences of our real-life gatherings. A bulk of the information is related to the problem of translation: our reasons for general dissatisfaction with the current translation of "The Lord of the Rings" as well as several experimental translations (password-protected). So if you understand Lithuanian, please do not hesitate and press the buttons on the left (don't forget the tea
)!
Khem, talking about Lithuanian... Unfortunately all this information is in Lithuanian but if you want to contact us anyway, please write to [mail: Starlin] or [mail: Exon]! We are always excited about making new friends.
~Regards and best wishes from Lithuanian tolkienists~
Ale bet man nesueina "have a cup of tea" - hobitiškas stilius - su "thou shalt" - siliškas stilius...
