Summer 2013: Trip through Mirkwood!

Since there may be some potential participants from other countries registering on our forum, I will give some basic information here. The information in Lithuanian is available in this thread.

What: a hiking trip combined with various other activities, with participants from Lithuania, Hungary, Slovenia, possibly Croatia and perhaps even some other countries.
When: 20-28 July, 2013 (two weekends and the week in between); the hiking trip takes place Monday-Friday, with the weekends dedicated to getting to know each other, workshops and other activities.
Where: north-eastern part of the country, the "Lake country" of Lithuania.
Who and how many: probably 10-20 participants from each country, so it should be a lively bunch of people.
How much: we will attempt to get this project funded through the EU "Youth in action" scheme, which would cover almost all expenses for participants between 13 and 25 years of age. For every four participants in that age range, one participant between 25 and 30 years old can also be funded. Funded participants will get all expenses paid, except for 30% of the cost of travel to and from Lithuania (travel within Lithuania will be covered). For participants outside the age range, the price is not determined yet, but should be within 150 Euros plus travel expenses to and from Lithuania.

Thank you very much for your kind invitation! Can you, please, give some details about the programme? You mentioned some workshops previously. Are thes confined to the weekends, or there will be some during the hiking trip? What kinds of activities do you plan? What are the ones that you welcome (or moreover, require) from foreign guests?

Hungarian Tolkien Society (supporter - or what... )

For the first weekend, we are planning a meet-and-greet programme, with some presentations from each participating society, a song, tale and dance evening, as well as a workshop making LARP weapons, practising archery and swordfighting.

We don't have a concrete programme for the hike yet, but you can expect it to consist of both active events (orienteering, capture-the-flag, etc.) and calmer ones (trivia/riddle games, creative exercises).

The second weekend should be dedicated to some reflections on the event, perhaps presenting the results of some creative task carried out during the whole trip. Once again, the details are sketchy for now, but we should be able to give you more information in about a week.
